New mexico cow hunt no more
I drew a cow tag in new mexico this year and had a great hunt, my friend and brother and me all three shot cows. After the packout was over we talked to a game ranger and was told next year there would be no cow tags in the draw for non-resident hunters. Does anyone know of a land owner that offers cow tags ? HELP PLEASE.

Yes, New Mexico will make life a LOT tougher on non-residents starting in 2012. Total quota down to 16% from 22%, got to buy a non-refundable Game-hunting License to participate in the draw, etc.

The people at Huntin' Fool probably have access to the largest pool of landowner tags that I know of, but you have to be a member, $100.00 per year.

I believe that I read that you can choose the option to have a refundable hunting license and if you don't draw then you can have the huntIng license money refunded to you. I will post the paragraph on here later.

I stand corrected, Paragraph 7, page 4 of the above referenced link.
Thanks

Vermejo Park Ranch for cow tags. 588,000 private acres that Ray Charles could shoot an elk on.
