Idaho Unit one Info

a few friends and i are planning to hunt unit 1 for elk, i have already drawn and killed a moose in idaho, but they are wanting to put in for moose in unit one also.
what sub unit is best and where are some good areas to scout out up there this summer.

Idaho Game and Fish has a great resource on their web site. Its the Hunt Planner, you can get on it, and find out, statistics hunter numbers, success, seasons etc. Its a great resource, I have not hunted 1, but have hunted south of there. My general impression is quite a few hunters, and not a lot of elk in the area. Idah alos has two tag opportunities, the A and B tags. One is primative weapon heavy and the other is a general rifle tag. You probaby know more than I do, regarding the area having already been there.
