Gonna have to hunt public land and never been in this area, if anyone knows anything and would share it I would appreciate it.

Guessing I will need to be above 10,000 maybe near san juan park?

Thanks

yoker: I live in unit 71. 71, 711 would be your best bet for public land. You will hunt anywhere from 8,000ft-13,000ft. last year i killed a 375" bull 10 min from my house.

thanks really appreciate advice, I so far have been leaning towards 71, the hope is to set up base camp as high as we can get driving, then spike camp into over 8,000 thru 13000 and hopefully get on some elk.
