6.5 Creedmore-Rifle Elk Season

What do you guys think about the 6.5 creedmore with the new 127grain 6.5 Barnes LRX for elk? I have read lots of stuff about this round being used in Africa on large plains game such as Kudu and Nilgi in Texas, 400 yard max for a shot, it appears it would get the job done.

Thats the key. Without a good hit, you'll be chasing the animal all over hill and dale, emphasis on HILL.....

I've made nit so great hits on elk with 300 mag and chased em over the hills. Less a 50BMG proper shot placemen is a given

I have a Creedmoor and would not hesitate to use it on elk out to 4 or 500 yards. It's fast becoming my favorite cartridge. I'd probably take my 300 WSM for elk though, just in case I get the opportunity for a shot longer than 600.

You'll have to report back when you drop one! If I were taking mine I think I'd shoot the 129 Interbond, or depending on how future testing goes, I'd love to try the 140 Berger Hybrid. Your Barnes will put the hurt on them too
