I fired 13 rounds from my 270 at a herd of 75+ elk, on a cow permit, in Montana, and I have some pictures that look just like yours.

But at 585 yards, I should have been aiming 6' high, not 2' feet high.

Maybe I will take my 338 to the range. I have never shot it. I also need to do some long range target practice.

I may be misunderstanding your post, but were you just flinging lead at them?

I would suggest selecting "edit" and holding down the delete key until it's all gone!

Yup, about a 150 miles from home. Not too bad of a drive.
