I was very pleased with the performance of both the rifle and bullet.

Rifle was built for me by Mike Bryant from Wheeler TX. Its a trued Remington 700 action, Lilja 1 in 8 twist 3 groove 25.5" barrel, timney trigger, mcmillan's remington mountain rifle stock w/ edge tech and a zeiss conquest scope.

I was shooting the 140grn nosler partition at 3050. Bench and practice accuracy was/is great although shoots 130grn Sirocco II bullet even better.

The bull was quarting a bit more than I thought and I hit a bit too far forward.

Bullet powdered the near shoulder and exited forward of the off shoulder. No bullet was recovered. Wound channel was huge exit hole was a good 3-4"

    What a great bull. Thanks for the info on the terminal performance.

    This is the first year afield with my 264, a very similar build to yours. We did test drive it on a moose two weeks ago with 140 Bergers at 260 yards. He took two rounds but never moved from the spot of the first hit.

    Thats a great bull. I've had my 264 for a couple years now but have yet to put anything down with it. I've started reloading as few years ago and been trying to develop a load using a TTSX for it but unfortunately I live in a place where shootings ranges are hard to come by.

    Darn squirrel rifles and flat based bullets! Don't you know they can't do anything to elk? You need a 33-404 HUMDINGER to kill those. Great shooting, nice rifle and bull. Congratulations.
