.264 WMs First Blood

My new custom built .264 WM got bloodied for the first time early this month on a great Arizona Elk.

Took him at 500 yards using 140grn Nosler Partition running at 3050 ft/sec.

It was a great hunt with a fantastic ending.

    Thanks.

Took 17 years to draw the trophy hunt tag. General season from now on.

WOW 17 years? Good thing you did not miss. Would you give rifle details and load performance please?

So after your first animal, how do you feel the 264 performed with your bullet selection? I would like to hear about the shot placement, penetration and overall performance.
