Talk about bullet placement it always p'ed me off to hear some one empty a simi auto 30-06 at deer hunting then you hear one or two other guys do the same thing at the same deer and I bet no one got close to hitting it. If i ever have a shot I'm not sure of I always pass it up I don't want a wounded deer that I have to go looking for. And I have never had one to go any where from where I shot it. for deer in oklahoma I never use anything larger than a 100 grain bullet in any caliber. this because when I was young I shot a deer at about 30 yards square in the chest with a 30-06 180 grain silvet tip and had to through the front half of the meat away. Will never do that again.
