Wyoming Antelope Hunt
My cousin and I are looking to put together an antelope hunt for 2011. Originally, talking about winging it on public land but he says he knows a guy that goes every year. Says it's in area 23 on a large ranch capable of holding 100+ hunters. Typical cost is about $1000/person including housing, tags/fees, etc.....basically for everything. Is that a good deal? How does area 24 hold up for antelope? Good area?
Thanks!
J

Re: Wyoming Antelope Hunt
$1000 if that is all inclusive thats a great deal. buck tag $300, motel 4 day $225, food/drink 4days $200, maps $25, gas driving around on public roads $100, meat packer/butcher $75 = $925

Re: Wyoming Antelope Hunt
Personally, I'd be concerned about sharing a ranch with 100+ other hunters.

Re: Wyoming Antelope Hunt
I agree. I'm going to find out where/who it is and do my research.

Re: Wyoming Antelope Hunt
There's a lot of antelope in those two areas so success rates are high but there's not much public access. If you had a connection with some landowners around that area, that would definitely help. Or, you could just go knock on doors. Personally, I'd never pay that much for a goat. But, that's just me. If I were a nonresident I'd probably save my points up for a better area. Just depends how antsy you are to hunt antelope and how much you want to spend.

Re: Wyoming Antelope Hunt
Seems high to me. Three of us went this last season, and split costs. This is my share only. $330 deisel, new Fords suck, $110 for 5nights at Motel 6 with kitchenette. $430 for 1 bucktag and 2 does tags. Not having to buy dinner for shooting the smallest buck, priceless. All hunting was on public land and we shot a 14+", a 14",a nd a 12+" bucks.
