I have never hunted blacktails, but between mules and whitetails in terms of killing them, I'm hard pressed to see a big difference if shot in the vitals with a decent load.
In terms of difficulty to hunt Given mature animals in their natural habitat, I'd give the edge to the whitetail. Much more difficult to stalk and will rarely, if ever stop to look back. I'm not talking about the feeder field whitetail mutations.
