Long Range Accubond Recovered

I took this coues buck on Monday morning right at 500 yards.

I was shooting my new 300 Win Mag with Noslers new 210 grn Long Range Accubond. The bullet liked being pushed hard with my best groups at a muzzle velocity of 2860 fps. At 500 yards the velocity should have been around 2250 fps. The buck was quartered to me, I hit him right behind the shoulder, the bullet broke a few ribs, traveled about 2 ft through the bucks body and stopped just inside the hide of his opposite hind quarter. Below is a pic of the recovered bullet. Good looking mushroom with the solid base holding the bullet together. Weight of the bullet is 103 grn so approximately 50% weight retention.

Re: Long Range Accubond Recovered

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I was wondering how the 210s would hold up. From the sounds of things, they are a rapidly expanding bullet.

Did you post that on cwt.com as well?

Outstanding buck
Long range shooting is a process that ends with a result. Once you start to focus on the result (where the shot goes, how big the group is, what your buck will score, what your match score is, what place you are in...) then you loose the capacity to focus on the process.

Great buck and congratulations!!!! Outstanding.

Thanks for taking the time to post real world hunting results with the 210. That's about what I would have expecting from this bullet. Great performance for this job! Good selection+great shot=EXCELLENT hunt.
