6.5mm 140 Berger VLD for LARGE mulie bucks?

Yeah...it's just a 'tat' larger than 6.5! These are 45 2 7/8 SS with 550 gr. all-lead cast bullets with paper patch!

Mature Alberta mulies run as big as they get. No problem on the big guys with a well placed shot with a 140 Hunting VLD out to 1000 yards. My 6.5x284 load at 2970MV produces the same velocity/ energy at 1000 yards as my 270WSM using 140 Accubonds at 3150MV at 700 yards. That 6.5 Berger is a great high BC bullet that performs excellently from 200 yards out tp 1000 yards. I've taken 11 deer of all sizes between 200 and 1000 yards. All dead with one shot. In my experience the difference between a really big deer and an average size might be 100 pounds. It doesn't influence my choice of caliber.
