I live in Fort Bragg.Jackson State forest is a good place to shoot but range is limited, there is one spot that i found that you can shoot 700 yards. Also i set up a range with targets from 50-500yards.Mendocino National forrest is also a good area but its about a 1 1/2 drive for me.

Fat1Bear, what part of Nor Cal are you in. I have heard that Sacto has a good range that goes to 1,000yds. I am in Sonoma County and looking for something too.

Blacktail2, where in Mendo Nat'l Forrest?

I go in from the little town of Covelo. You go past the Black Butte store and take the first right, this will take you across the Eel river,go up the hill several miles to the top of the ridge. When you get up on top it opens up alot and there are several places to set up.Bring your coyote call, theres a few,but the ones that are left are smart.

    NOR-CAL Ranges

Hey Guy's, I'm in Rio Linda just about 5 miles north of Sacto. The only range that I know of with a 1,000 yd lane is in Ione. They do not let you shoot for that distance unless you jump thru their hoops. You must be a member and qualify on a regular basis. Ione is about 1 1/2 hour drive for me. If you could email me directions to your range maybe we could meet up some time. CSBAman@aol.com

I'm from Roseville... Oroville has a public range that goes out to 550, you can shoot the hills behind and that'll get you to about 600-650ish.
