Here is a link to the draw odds. It's pretty tough to get a tag until you build preference points. You get one per year per species but as you gain points, Nevada squares them. What I mean by that is if you have one point, you have one chance for your name to be drawn. If you have two points, they square this number giving you four chances to draw a tag. I think they call it "The More You Pay, The More You Play".

That being said, I'm not sure your big $$ is being spent wisely. The deer numbers seem to keep dropping, while the elk numbers seem to be doing very well.
