Kansas Investigating Reported Killing Of Mountain Lion In State

Kansas Wildlife and Parks officers are investigating the alleged killing of a mountain lion, also known as a cougar or puma, in southcentral Kansas last fall. Investigators learned of the case three weeks ago.

Let's figure this out geographically.

We know that they are are officially in Colorado and Missouri as agreed by their respective game depts.

Now with Kansas in between, you would think that the KS game dept would figure out pretty dang good odds that they are back in Kansas without having to have one killed first.

BH, I didn't read it that they "had" it killed , rather some citizen did it. Did I miss something?

the cat was killed by a local and fish & game is trying to press charges on him.

I just meant that most game depts will outright dismiss all reported sightings as totally unreliable until someone finally drags a dead carcass in and then they go ape and want to charge someone.

I know that MO was like that for years.
