Wow!! Wonder how a 338 Lapua or the likes with good mounts would look like filmed the same way. A couple loose screws anywhere would not be good.

That certainly is a cool video , from the few 50's I've shot the recoild wasen't any worse than a 12ga shotgun and only oone was that bad the rest kicked about like a 30-06 maybe a bit more of a push , that gun appears to have some pretty substancial recoil.
What actualy causes the scopes on 50's to fail is called "dual stage recoil" , the gun starts in motion rearward and as the bullet comes clear of the muzzel and the massize brake takes effect it stops most of the rearward travel and in some cases drages the gun back forward.. The scopeis generaly only insulated against recoil from one direction and this two way effect wrecks them I have killed more scope with a RWS model 48 pellet rifle than I've ever heard of on ANY other gun , this is also due to the dual stage recoil , one in the rear direction and again in the opposite direction when the spring slamms home , it'll beat the guts out of some of the best .

Wanna see something real crazy look at a slow motion vid of someone shooting a bow! the arrow does some really funky things along with the bow, the arrow goes from looking really straight to looking more like well a shoestring in the wind. Later,

The main reason for the flexing is that the rail type base is not
mounted properly. (notice how it raises up in back). The next thing thats wrong is the rings are to close together, for a very large objective lense that is very heavy. And yes that much flexing cant be good for the scope. Great video of real world problems. J E CUSTOM
