Oh, I almost forgot. The goat finally ended up scoring around 49 5/8". He just missed the all time B&C book but still made the award entry.

I think you guys missed my point. I'd wouldn't hesitate to shoot that goat at ten feet with the 338 Thunder if that's how the shot presented.
Re-reading the story: an elderly hunter, a trophy goat, off hand in a 25 mph wind with a big, heavy hard- kicking rifle like that...forget what I wrote. A great job all around! Last edited by LewisH : 04-19-2008 at 10:54 PM.
