Pretty cool video. I've kinda shied away from these scopes. Seems like we gotta draw the line somewhere. I don't know where.

Len,
thanks for the neat viedo. a good friend bought a burris laser scope,
i think they have their place, but too each their own. i'm sure people still miss game because of human error.....even with the best gear money can buy!!! just a thought.. regards

I have the Bushnell version

It comes with different turrets for different bullet drops and works just like they say it does. Mine will range trees and rocks out to a little over 800 yards using the bipod. The turret for my drop only goes to 600 yards. I use the mildots for anything farther than that.

For me combining the scope and the rangefinder means one less thing to forget.

As far as crossing lines goes.... is it any different than using a hand held rangefinder? And an altimeter? And a gps? And a wind meter? And a pocket pc with ballistics software? And google earth? And guns that push 200gr bullets 3300 ft/sec?

Should we all go back to throwing boomerangs to avoid crossing any lines?

I think I'm misunderstanding what these scopes do. I was thinking they adjsuted the reticle to compensate for the range for you. Now I think they're just a laser ranging scope with a BDC reticle.

I suppose I was drawing the line at the scopes adjusting the elevation for you.

That's next: a laserscope with a slaved, computer-adjusted reticle...just pre-enter all your ballistic data, turn on laser, center the target, and bang!, dead on at any range...that is, if the windage is correct (that could be computed in, too). The military must have technology like that now.

I was gonna get a NXS, but maybe I'll hold off until the next generation computerized laserscope comes out.

Nah...it'd prolly be way too pricey for me.
