Turkey vs 454 Casull

Picked up a Freedom Arms Premier grade 454 Casull last week. This thing is pretty lively under recoil, so I loaded up some practice 260 gr. ammo at 44 mag velocities. Out testing my new loads tonight when I ran across a flock of young turkeys. Seasons on and I have a license, time to blood the new gun. 454 works on turkeys!

Re: Turkey vs 454 Casull

Congrats on your new FA and on the turkey! Love my FA 454 too. I have put some large holes in game animals. How tore up was your bird?

Re: Turkey vs 454 Casull

I was surprised how intact the bird was. I don't think it offered enough resistance to expand the bullet.
