Ever take a 3 yr old Turkey huntin?

Well I did, and we had fun........... but I got a lesson in patience. It sure was cool to have my little huntin buddy there with me for this. If youve never had the experience of taking a 3 yr old huntin', DO IT! It will make any other challenge on any other hunt you make seem trivial

But dispite his best efforts to run off every Turkey in the county we succeeded .
What a great hunt and fun time we spent togather. I love bein a daddy, but wow! That was an experience

That's awesome!!! Someday I hope my daughter shows some interest in hunting, I've almost got her mom talked into trying turkey hunting...

Great story and pics. I tried taking my 3 yr old grandson this spring and we did accomplish what goal i had set. We didn't even make it all the way to the woods, it was a long climb for a 3 yr old, but we did get to hear one gobble on the roost. He was happy with that. Can't wait until he's a bit older.

Good goin man! Wish my dad had taken me hunting that early. Finaly managed to convince him to go when I was 13.

Looks like a future LR hunter to me! start planning his Edge yet?

I wrote down the story in P.M. to Chas1, and Roaddog1m,(and maybe Royinidaho too, cant remember...) Saved the P.M. but dont know how to transfer it to here.

That's awsome! I took my son when he was four for the first time. We walked in, unknowingly sat right under a roosted bird, and killed him in the first five minutes of shooting time. Poor kid's ruined for life

He is six now and got to hold the gun on a youth hunt this year. I had one to 40 yards for him but the pop gun 28ga just wasn't enough to trust letting him pull the trigger.

I agree completely that it will challenge you in unimaginable ways to take a kid along. But the rewards are 100X more than the challenges!

Great job taking him along!
