Striper on Sacramento River

The River was too high during the good months of striper fishing, and now that it went back down I've been fishing it a lot, even if it's really late.

22" caught on anchovies.

Re: Striper on Sacramento River

Congradulations, on a fine striper!

I'm going to a local lake (55 miles) called Kiser Lake, that has stripers and I'm still trying to catch my first one. Everyone else has been catching them on floating crankbaits in about 11' of water, while trolling in a kayak. One of the guys in our group has caught several, not the least of which was 32" long and 18 lbs. He said that it pulled him, in his kayak, around for 1 hr. and 50 minutes, before he could get it in the boat.

I've not tried any live bait, chicken liver, etc., but I hear it works well. I'm guessing that the water temperature is still too high for them to really start hitting consistantly.

If God didn't want man to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat.
