Re: Can anyone tell me a good place to go hunt hogs?
Diamond A is a good place if you can drive/fly to Texas. On the East Coast there are similiar hog hunting places but they are going to be mostly short range or dog hunts.
For wild hogs DIY, there is the Big South Fork area in Tennessee. I have been planning on going down there in February or March before the leaves come out but it seems like my part time consulting projects always need to be started about then. I do not know much about it except that there are supposed to be hogs there and you hunt them however you want to. That is about the closest place that I know of on public land.

The rules as I remember them are that certain areas can only be hunted during the deer season and the other areas can be hunted all year long. As I remember it from calling Tennessee, you will be required to buy some kind of nonresident license. I think they have a five day or something like that.
If you send me a PM I will tell you what my plan was. Like all such good plans it is a wonderful plan and has about a 2% chance of actually working.

If your just looking for a close range high success treestand type hunt, I can recommend Shiloh Ranch in Oklahoma. Nicest people around to hunt with. Its a baited hunt but still a lot of fun and very reasonable.
