Gray button from a shirt

The button fell off and I gave the shirt to Goodwill.

First one who asks gets it.

Well the button fell off so I figured it could have been a 4 hole with a broken hole. This phenomenon creates the elusive 3 hole button. I have discovered that this button is indigenous to the Northern States rarely appearing in the South.
