optics

hello outhere from northern arizona. i have a question about optics. which is the best for the least amount of dollars. i wish i could spend over a grand or even half of that for a scope but i cannot. so what would be the best lets say for about 200 dollars? any info would help. i shoot varmints only for now. no big game at this time. i need something that can handle some abuse. some scopes say shock proof but not really. i drive over alot of area and finding new areas to hunt so my equipment takes alot of bouncing around. so what does hold up? i do not think caliber matters here?
