I'm new to the sight thanks to a friend and am looking for info reguarding my savage model 111 270 win. I bought this gun about 6 to 8 month's ago and have greatly enjoyed shooting it at targets, coyotes, sage rats, etc. What I'm after is to improve it's accuracy as much as possible for long range coyotes and varmints.I have shot about a 1,000 rounds threw it ranging from 110 vmax's to the current 135 seirra matchking that has worked out great! I have enjoyed alot of 400 yard targeting and most recently have bumped up to 600 and beyond for fun. I'm not concerned about weight since this is strictly a varmint/target build. Any ideas or references would be great. I have been looking for a stock similar to the rem 700 xr100? And have interst in a possible 1 inch dia barrel? With this being a drop out mag it has made finding a stock very difficult so far. My goal is to be able to pick off coyotes at a 1000. I recently went out with a freind shooting and we found a rockchuck out just beyond the 1000 yard plate so i tried my luck and missed!!! None the less i'm hooked even more now on long range shooting.

Re: Newby

Good morning! I hope you find all your answers here. You may want to also start a thread in the Rifles, Bullets... sub-forum, though.
