Hello guys, I'm from Texas and really enjoy long range hunting. I started shooting F-Class and Silhouette about a year ago to become a better shot and I am now classified Expert in F-Class and soon AAA in silhouette, High Power and Small Bore. I have a few guns that I hunt with, all customs. I have a 300 win mag for Colorado mule deer and Elk, a 280 Ackley Improved with 8 twist barrel for 175 Matchkings for those long South Texas shots at whitetails, I have a 22-250 Ackley Improved that I built for an all around rifle at the deerlease but it is now collecting dust because the 6BRX shooting 105 Lapua Scenars took its place as the all around rifle. Less powder, longer barrel life, more energy, and extreme accuracy, I figured I couln't go wrong with it. My F-Class rifle is a 6.5-284 built on a Lawton 7500 action and my HP Silhouette rifle is in the works - a 6.5 X 47 Lapua built on a Borden action with a Mark Pharr R/T S Stock. Well, as of now my longest shot is 720 yards at a Javalina with my 6BRX (it was a 6BR at the time though) and numerous shots over 400 with my 280 AI, I can't wait for hunting season so that I can beat my record. As you might have guessed by now by my choice of calibers, I handload for all my rifles.
I really enjoy this website and have been reading your articles for a while which have been extremely helpful, keep up the good work guys!
