Hi, my name is Gus and I live in the small community of Sunshine near Talkeetna, Alaska. My wife and I are retired and we both enjoy hunting and being in the back country.

I found this site while searching for information on long distance shooting, especially as it applies to hunting. This site pretty well has that part of it covered so here I am.

Hey Gus,
I'm new, too. My name is Kalle Hyrkas (pronounced Cully Hercus). My wife and I enjoy hunting, fishing, etc. We just went on a Bou hunt up in the Selawik. We bow hunt, but couldn't get close enoough for a bow shot so I took a bull with a .223 at 301 yards. I now have a new love for long range shooting.... and that led me here. In fact, I'm going to order a new rifle from Len.

We love Alaska, and plan to move there, soon. I just sent my resume to several companies. I'm a safety professional (OSHA). I've been to Anchorage several times teaching OSHA classes for the University of Washington. Drove up to Talkeetna this past April. Of course, had to have a beer at the brew pub... I must have driven past your house...

If you went into Talkeetna you drove past my house, we live a couple miles in on the Talkeetna Spur Rd. The next time you make it up stop in for a cup of coffee.
