NC Shooter and Hunter

Hey Folks,
First time posting. I was wondering if anyone has any experience restoring the black finish to an older scope that has turned a purplish color. Optics are fine but the color is wierd. I've seen this on other scopes but never asked why it changed to that color. It doesn't look like oxidation.
Any ideas or explaination would be much appreciated. Thanks.
