Re: How did you find us here at LRH.com?
I found you while searching for long range hunting sites. I was especially interested in info relating to building a custom long range gun. I have a Stevens 200 .270 and a Series 1 Weatherby Vanguard in the 7mm rem mag. Trying to customize them both, with the thought of keeping costs low without skimping.
So far I've ordered a wooden stock straight from Savage to fit. Next, I figure on doing a trigger job. Was wondering if the stock was good enough on the Weatherby S1 to keep, or if I should upgrade. Thanks.

Re: How did you find us here at LRH.com?
Actually I found the site by typing in "Long Range Hunting Rifle" and I have been droping in ever since. Lots of interesting discussion and I hope to be part of it as soon as I can get some practical experience. I am indeed in Northern New Mexico, Taos to be specific, been here for a little over 4 yrs. I drew an elk hunt the first year I was here and didn't see a thing. People were driving out with kills left and right. So I think I need to improve my skills as a hunter.
Currently I'm in the market for a Remington Sendero in a 7 rem mag or 300 win, but having trouble finding one. I currently have a 7 mag in rem BDL and I really like it, it's about 25 yrs old and shoots slightly over 1 MOA with hand loads.

Re: How did you find us here at LRH.com?
As I understand it in the designation H4831SC the SC stands for Short Cut, as in shorter granules. They are the same powder otherwise. They did that so that it would flow better through a powder measure. Can anyone verify this?????
thanks,
