I have a Savage trophy hunter XP with 3x9 nikon being shipped as we speak.
I already sold the scope to cover 40% of total cost... Im here to improve the gun make it look sweet and see if anyone can help out on the best bi-pod-muzzle break -etc
Im looking to get proficient in long range shots.
Im in the sierras and would love to knock down at a 1000+

I'm probably not the best help but wanted to get things rolling....You are gonna want to get pretty "rigged-out" to start knocking down at 1000+. I'm still trying to shoot consistant at 600, and know a handful of Marine snipers that would be pretty amazed at the majority of your typical 1000+yd claims. Most 1000yd guns aren't ones that I would pack into the woods or hills. A lot goes into this discussion...cartridge, set up, optics, barrel, bedding, loads....on and on. Good luck.

Totally understandable and thanks. I guess a more realistic goal would be 4-500 as a starter. I'm thinking optics bi pod muzzle break to start. Thanks
