Hello from Illinois
Hi,
My name is Scott and I am from east central Illinois. I enjoy shooting a wide variety of firearms. I shoot targets up to 500 yards at the local rifle range with my centerfire rifles. I also shoot sporting clays with shotguns and shoot pistols. I hunt whitetails with bow, shotgun, muzzleloader and pistol in Illinois and use rifles in Michigan. I have been to Wyoming to hunt antelope four times which is where I made my longest shot (380 yards). This year I shot a 4x5 bull elk in Colorado for my first elk. I also hunt waterfowl with a passion. I have two teenage daughters that hunt deer with shotguns and my wife also hunts. I enjoy reading about guns and hunting anf I find it enjoyable to read about others experiences. That is about all for now.

Where you from? I am slightly north or Peoria between Dunlap and Princeville.

I live near Newton, approximately 30 miles east of Effingham (where I-70 and I-57 cross).

Re: Hello from Illinois
Good to have you on board. I have family in Mattoon, and Neoga so I know your area.
Do you have any places to shoot past 300 yards down there? 300 is about it for actual ranges up here.

Re: Hello from Illinois
I shoot at the Effingham County Sportsmans Club by Lake Sara. They have berms at 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, 385 and 500 yards. Funneman Gun Shop website has membership info and a map.
