Hey guys, I'm a new to this site. Looking at getting a new 308 I have two in mind and having trouble on which to choose either the savage model fvss or the Remington vtr. Using it mostly for ranges between 100-500 yards, any suggestions ?

Welcome to the site. Both are good rifles, but you are more likely to get an out of the box shooter with the Savage. While I like the Remington action, it will need trigger work, and the accuracy can be much more hit or miss, requiring action work to make it a good shooter. IMHO.
