Lived and hunted in western Canada the first 42 years of my life. What you have will work fine. I have taken moose and elk with both those calibres, never had to shoot one twice. Like has already been stated, stick with the heavier bullets.

The answer is always the same. Take whichever you shoot the best. If you are going to spend a bunch of money going to hunt out of state, then take what you shoot the best.

Every one of those guns will take down a moose. Shoot! I killed a bison with a .243! Because I hit it in the head.

Seen them shot, or have shot them, with 7mm RM, 338 Win Mag, 338-378 Wthby Mag, and .375 Wthby Mag. With good presentation and shot placement, they'll all kill a large bull moose. When shot presentation is marginal, I've a preference for the .338s over the 7mms. The .338s produced the more authoritative affect on moose than the 7mms, in my observations and experiences.

Shoot them standing broadside thru the ribs - just behind the front shoulder muscles - and they'll all work well enough.
