The House Republican majority is made up mostly of members who are in sharply gerrymandered districts that are very safely Republican and may not feel compelled to pay attention to broad-based public opinion, because what they're really concerned about is the opinions of their specific Republican constituencies,” the president said in an interview with The New Republic.
Obama also said he can get 50 percent of public support for many of his upcoming initiatives, but “I can't get enough votes out of the House of Representatives to actually get something passed. … I think there is still shock on the part of some in the party that I won re-election.”
IMO, at least those Republicans are acting in the interests of their constitutients, thats a concept that Obama can't comprehend and don't want to, obviously.
What he forgets is that 'winning' and winning by a decisive majority are two entirely different animals. He won by mandate not by a decisive majority. There are a vast number of citizens who don't agree with his policies and that is coming to light.
Winning and winning decisively are two entirely different things.
Keep in mind always that Obama still has the UN Inititative in his back pocket as another salvo to dillute the Constitution. The White House is very much leaning toward the UN Arms Treaty. That in itself will do more damage than Feinstein's ludricious bill.
This will be an ongoing battle and we need to support both in spirit and financially, the voices that make the difference in Washington.
To name actual personalities like Rush Limbaugh shows Obama's immaturity and frustration.
Obama wants to advance his Socialist agenda and everytime he suffers a setback, he gets pissed instead of dealing with it in a professional manner but then, I don't consider him a professional anything.......
I find it amazing and disturbing that the mainstream media never covers anything but what's conducive to this administration. I never saw any mention, even in the back pages of any newspaper about the Harrisburg Gun Show, nothing concerning any peaceful protests anywhere in the country concerning the rights of law abiding firearm owners but, slapshed on the front pages of every paper was the protest in Washington by protesters for gun control.
Just shows you how really controls the media, especially Associated Press Syndicate (AP). All newspapers are good for today is foreclosure notices, litter box liners and wrapping your fish in.....aka: Mullet Wrappers.
'It's not about me, it's about we'..........
Flip, my take on the Bill of Rights is that the founding fathers used that document to enumerate the rights all men were granted by god and country (in that order) at birth. Those rights were god given and not to be infringed upon by government or individuals.
Not so much the right to own a submachine gun, but the right to self defense being god given and the ability to do it with the most effective tools availiable ( submachine if need be.
Joe, I agree that he greatly miscalculated the backlash that would come from using the bodies of 20 children to build a soapbox to call for gun control. However, it hasn't stopped them, they are just looking for ways to gain seats in congress to shove it down our throats much like using a lame duck session of congress to shove a healthcare package through. Don't ever forget that one....lame duck legislators have nothing to lose.
The Democratic superPAC's are currently courting tea party conservatives in KY and offering to spend 7figures to get a candidate to defeat Sen. McConnell. Since when do the dems spend millions on republican campaigns?
They're looking for any chink in the armor guys...interesting times...
There's no time quite like trigger time! .................................................. .................................................. .................../\.
I'm pretty much in the government cross hairs (so to speak) for 2 reasons, One, I have a concealed carry and Two, I hold a Class 3 FFL. They know everything about me, probably what brand of undies I wear and how many times a day I pee.....
Machine guns, I love 'em. Would like to own a Browning or Vickers water cooled. I've built a couple MG's for other Class 3 holders and a flamethrower for BBQ at a distance (150) feet.
I've always been a fan of Knob Hill. Thats probably done with.
Interestingly, flamethrowers aren't classified under the BATFE regulations.
The public conception perpetrated by the media is that we are all gun toting, half wacked insurgents, ready to pounce on the unarmed and children.
Nothing could be farther from the truth but, it's the media thats perpetrated the lie. What the hell happened to responsible journalism?
Anymore, I hold all media types in the lowest regard.
'It's not about me, it's about we'..........
It appears to me we should join the current hysteria and suggest
the evidence shows that all registered Democrats should be confiscated.
We know who they are- ~ they're registered!
---- Why is it that none of the disturbed and evil men, who steal guns, then go and kill
movie-goers and children in school, has ever been identified as a conservative
Ft Hood~~~ Registered Democrat ~ Muslim
Columbine ~~~ Too young to vote; both families were registered
Democrats and progressive liberals
Virginia Tech ~~~ Wrote hate mail to President Bush and to his staff ~
Colorado Theater ~~~ Registered Democrat; staff worker on the Obama
campaign; Occupy Wall Street participant;
Connecticut School Shooter- ~~~ Registered Democrat; hated Christians,
Common thread is that all of these shooters were progressive liberal Democrats." INTERESTING, isn't it?
Can u give us the source for this information? Not saying it's not true, I just would like to see hard confirmation before it comes out of my mouth in a discussion.
