you are doing the same as staying home because a vote for Ron Paul is a wasted vote and lost which will only benefit Obama or Hillary in the end.

Your choice, but do not be naive and think it is anything positive.

Couldn't agree more!!

even if the others suck, you are basically taking away a vote for the lesser of two evils in the presidential election. If you want to prove a point in vein, then go ahead and vote for the third party. But honestly, if you really are concerned about policy and want to have some impact, pick a dem or republican because it is going to be a dem or republican who takes office this year. The Electoral college simply won't pick a third party yet. If there were more third party members in congress, then you may have a shot.

I think we can all agree that John McCain will protect this country no matter what it takes. McCain will support our troops and make our military stronger. I think the safety and security of our country should be the most important thing a voter thinks about when pulling the lever. Without a strong military and the security and safety of our great country, every other issue is trival.

We have to give McCain a chance. I know it will be hard for some conservatives to vote for him, but we have to come together and make sure the person in the White House will at least protect our country from our many enemies, make our military stronger and support our troops.

Here are some things you should know;
1. Russia is slowly and silently coming back.
2. China has the biggest Navy and Army in the world.
3. Iran, well they are supported by Russia, China and North Korea and if you don't think so, then you need to take a step back and really look at what's going on in the world. Iran wants to wipe Isreal off the face of the planet and if they get a nuke, they just might do it.
4. North Korea has Nuclear weapons and a way to to deliver one to at least the West Coast of the United States. I am sorry but that makes me a little nervous living on the West Coast.
5. Venezuela, have you ever heard of Hugo Chavez. He suports Iran and praises Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, however, he called George Bush the Devil while speaking at the United Nations.

The above nations have mentioned they would like to see Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton get into the White House. I am sorry, but that's scary too.

I am sick of hearing about how bad a President George Bush has been. George Bush has kept this nation safe since 9/12/2001 and that's good enough for me. My point, John McCain will keep us safe for 8 more years and make our enemies think twice about doing anything to our country.

Please, vote for McCain. If you vote for guys like Ron Paul or Bob Barr, the above nations will get what they want.

W.

John McCain never had my vote, so voting for Bob Barr is not "stealing" any votes from McCain. If its between McCain and Obama, I'll just stay home. McCain will run this country into the ground just as fast as any of his liberal brethren. Voting for the lesser of two evils is still evil, and will only lead us farther down the path to socialism. If a conservative 3rd party get 15% of the vote (which may be very likely this year) maybe some of these spineless republicans will wake up and grow a set to stand up for our conservative values. I used to preach that a vote for a 3rd party was a vote for the liberals, but this year I cannot swallow my values and pull the lever for a warmed-over liberal (McCain). People need to stand up and vote for what they believe in if they ever expect any change.

Just look at how many times he votes with the Democratic party and against his (LOL) Republican party. A politicians words or website is one thing, his actions and voting record is another. After being in the Senate for twenty years, why is he not a major leader in the Republican party, because he is not a Republican, and has no support in the Senate.

Try to find his sponsored bills that have succeeded in getting passed. He, in my opinion, is a professional politician that has done nothing for this country and the 14th District but has done well for himself with raising money for his political coffers.

Thanks Hrstretch for the info. Isn't it interesting all the conflicting information that's out there! Some of those things that Paul voted for, he voted with Dems. I for one don't much care about what party backs what issue as long as the proposal is just. I'm not a straight Republican and I'm not a straight Democrat. Both sides have good ideas and bad ideas although I will admit that Republicans usually have more of the ideas I agree with. But to say that Reps have not had their share of skeletons in the closet is simply untrue.

So I believe it is more important to break down each issue and choose the right course of action on an individual basis than to just throw a general party method at them. And this is why I simply cannot vote for McCain. He has had way too many 2nd Amendment follies in his career than I can handle. He's got some good ideas, don't get me wrong. But how could a guy who likes guns as much as I do vote for someone the NRA gave a C minus rating? Or was it a C plus? I can't remember now but it wasn't all that good. Anyhow, I really would like to vote for a Republican this year as the Democratic options are by far worse than the Reps, but McCain simply doesn't have what it takes to lead the Republican party to victory or to lead the US back out of the dark. And if this new info about Ron Paul is true, then he is just another two faced politician as well.

The good thing about this whole mess is that we have a balance of power and no one man can really rule. The whole checks and balances thing kicks in and helps out the situation. This is good since there aren't any perfect people with perfect voting records and there aren't any parties that are pure right down the middle. Saying that Republicans are the best or Democrats are the best is like saying all white women ages 55-75 living in the midwest are the best. It's simply too much of a generalization. So what people need to do is vote for the right person, not the right party based on strategic manipulations. But it will take an awful lot of people to vote this way and I don't see it ever happening in my lifetime.

On a side note: What is your opinion of Mitt Romney and what would happen if McCain took him on as Vice Pres?
