Ya, and just think.... those M&Ms were probably made in the early 90s.

Ehh... also not a good idea. Those things can burn a person pretty bad. I'd not advise it.

[quote=hillajam;197817]where do you get theses lightweight stoves, and also is there any foldable stoves for heat for maybe a wall tent? quote]

Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse and REI all carry lightwt backpacking stoves. The one I have is the MSR Pocket Rocket at 3oz plus the fuel cannister.
Don't know about the folding stoves for heat - would personally just purchase a terrific sleeping bag - good ones that are lightwt cost ya, but will last you if ya take care of it.

Thanks for the info guys!

Which freeze dried brands do you like? I'm gonna buy some this week to try.

as far as stoves go....

My son found some website that tells you how to make an alchohol stove from aluminum cans. It's awesome! I have a couple MSR stoves that I use for backing way in, but I'm going to bring these instead. The one he built last week uses Everclear. So we can use it as a disinfectant, stove fuel, or I think (if you mixed it with something), it could serve as a celebratory drink! They take cold water from the refrigerator to a rolling boil in about 4 minutes, on two Tablespoons of fuel. So far we've only cooked top ramen on it, but it does it faster than either of my MSR's do.

That's what we eat on our backpack hunts. Ramen noodles, and grouse or rabbits. I mix the spices that I need all together in one small shaker, and that's it.
