J107 Eberlestock dragon fly

I bought a new one while we where in Jackson hole,WY on vacation. After getting home I'm not sure there is enough room for my gun. I think i would have been better off getting the Tactical one instead of the hunting pack. I was told the Tactical J107 has a larger opening for you rifle to slide down in. Has any one r does any one have one of these?????

Does any body want to buy a brand new hunting J107 still has the tags on it. So i can get the Tactical one????????

Re: J107 Eberlestock dragon fly

What rifle do you have? I got my brother a J107 Dragonfly pack a few years ago. I purchased the operator model knowing I would use it for a 15+ lb 338 Lapua which would require a larger scabbard. My brother can snuggly fit his rem 700 VSSF with Leupold MK4 10x in the scabbard. It fits snug enough that it won't shift around, but just barely fits. I think it is meant for more traditional style hunting rifles that are not as bulky as our "long range" rigs. The J107M has the bigger scabbard similar to my operator model. It has more than enough room for my Lapua with 56mm objective NF on it. Eberlestock makes great packs. Hope this helps.

I have the J07M, it carries my 338 edge 30"barrel, 5.5x22x56 nf, with harris bipod, with lots of room.. Still no easly chore to get it out, with pack still on your back, like they say it is...jmo

Re: J107 Eberlestock dragon fly

I purchased a J107M last year (only way to get one with multicam). I have a Sako .375H&H custom build with 26" barrel and 40mm Leupold on top. There is not an EXCESSIVE amount of space with that set up. But, I do not have any problem drawing it out. If you want a lubricious amount of space for your rifle, you might want to look at the Eberlestock Gunslinger. I just looked at one at a local gun shop over the weekend. Almost the entire width of the pack is open for a weapon. (10 to 12 inches). And, with the Gunslinger, the wide butt cover comes with it. It would have come home with me, except it was "tactical black" which just ain't my cup-o-tea...

I went with the blue widow and added the tactical weapon scabord to it, it works great for my savage 26" barrel with my nikon 5-20x44 and harris bipod
