338 long range hunting bullets

I shot some (3) 265 gr Silver Tip RBBTs the other day.

102 gr US-860, 338 RUM. Average Velocity was 2896 FPS. I had a poor rest (Heart beat) but still .5 MOA @ 200.

BC is claimed to be the same as the 300 SMK.

I sent some to a third party for independent evaluation.

I'm figuring that at 5000 feet the bc will exceed 0.8, we'll see.......

i shoot a 7mm stw sako with 180 bergers with 90g ofus869 i think the bc is .675 they shoot real good and a good elk bullet

Frank:

I have had good success in my .338 lapu with the 300 grain Sierra Matchkings. With good performance on mule deer at 165 yards, Elk at 460 yards and oryx at 704 yards.

Of the now commercially available bullets, I think it offers the best BC, providing your rifle has a 1:10 twist they would be worth a try.

250gr HPBT Sierra's shoot good in my 338 Gaillard.
