My 7WSM

Just got it thrown together and painted quickly while my wife was out of the house. I still need to bed the action and install the SS trigger, waiting for Alumahyde to cure first. I believe this will be a very good set up for 1000yd target shooting. It's not too heavy at 11.5 lbs with scope and bi-pod etc. It should work well for Elk hunting, too. I plan to use the 180gr Bergers (.684 BC).

Benchmark 1:9 twist, 3 groove, stainless, fluted, barrel
Stockade recoil lug
McCullek muzzle brake
Savage 110fp action
Stockade 3/4" Bolt knob/handle
Sharp Shooter trigger
Stockade "Elk Stalker) stock
Bushnell Elite 6-24x50 tactical (30mm tube)

Here's a few pics, I'll probably shoot it sometime after ISSC.

Nice looking rig. One other bullet to consider is Bob Cauterucio's 176 grain VLD which has a .750 BC. I have used it for 5 years so far.

Lance:
Nice job. I see you used the same colors as your .243 - that will make a nice pair.

My rifle will be back from the gunsmith soon and I will be using your pics as a model for the camo job I'll be doing on it. Although I will be using different colors.

Thanks guys. Those bullets sound awesome Len (amazing BC), I will definately give them a shot so to speak (thanks for the contact info).

I was planning on buying new paint from brownells by now, but never got arround to it, so it's a very simular paint job. The rifle's do look nice side by side.

I just live the fluted barrel, never had one fluted before.

Lucas:
Apologies for calling you Lance....my mind edited your screen name from "landc" to "lance"

One curious question....why the brake? 7WSM does not have prohibitive recoil.
