My 270 Win is finally finished! Deer beware!

My general hunting rifle is finally finished! * Not really a long range rifle like my Edge, but by no means a 'bush basher'. I will be using it for all my hunting out to 600 meters

I'm really happy with how it came out (Much nicer than the Mountain rifle that is originally was!)
The theory is to shoot 150gr berger VLD's at around 3000fps+ but will have to see how i go.

Specs are:

270 Win match chamber
Rem 700 action
McMillan Hunters Edge Ultralight
HS precision detachable magazine
Jewel trigger
24" Trueflite #3 barrel 1:10 twist
Gunworks Standard Supressor
DE bolt release
Trued action and sleeved bolt
Badger ordnance bolt knob
Sako Extractor
EGW 0 MOA base
Nightforce Ultralite rings
Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 LR

Weight: 8lb 14oz with scope (but without suppressor).

Sorry about the crappy pics, will change them for some better ones once I get my camera.

Cool rifle dude! I like to see custom rifles done in this caliber. Im a big 270 Winchester fan myself. It is very under rated as a long range deer gun. I got a Cuz in North Ms making kill shots at 600 yards with his. Sweet!!!

Real nice rig.
I am a big fan of 270 Win also. I will posting pictures of my rig as soon as I get home in like 10 days. Keep us posted on how it shoots.
What height of scope rings are you using?

Nice rig, for sure.

Any additional thoughts on your choice scope, rings, & base? I've been considering the same combination, for a stainless 700 sporter that's coming together.

Been looking at the Talley LWT Tacticals as well - Gary

I went with the Nightforce ultralight rings for two main reasons. Firstly they are bullet proof (and not too heavy) and secondly because I could fit a Defensive Edge ACD
The base was chosen because it was light, strong and a good price (I have EGW bases on all my rifles)

The scope was chosen because it offers excellent optics and good repeatability for the price and is customizable at a later date (turrets). However, i would put a 50mm objective on if i had time over again.
