Vintage Muledeer Photos

I thoght I would try to post some photos to get some practice. I picked two bucks that my Father harvested as test subjects. I've always thought highly of these bucks. They aren't the biggest racked, but the First has the biggest body of any Muley Buck that I've ever seen. The next just has a prety Rack.

This Buck was harvested in 1983 and he Field dressed at 350lbs. He has a 38" neck. He also has 8" bases. This was back When Bucks died of Old age, something you don't see anymore. Dad was 33 years old when he got this one. This is his biggest buck to date.

This Buck was harvested in 1995. Just a pretty even 4 point buck.

Both were harvested with a .30-06 here in Idaho.

Sorry for the poor quality as these are Scanned.

That's a nice way to remember. I am one of those that is stuck in an earlier time warp and wish I could go back some years. All the places I hunted growing up are no longer available. Some were lost to hunting clubs and others to population growth changes.

Re: Vintage Muledeer Photos

Ah, remembering back in the day when:
  • Montpelier was an extra deer tag area
  • There were elk up at Yellow Jacket
  • Dad's 8pt white tail mount on the wall
  • A 6 cylinder, 2WD Chevy would take ya where ever ya wanted to go.
  • Carrying squib loads for fool's hens
  • Ice a foot over the fast running stream
  • No one ever heard of camo
Ah, those were the days

Dan, thanks for the post.
I may be the slowest guy on the mountain . . . . but . . . . I'm on the mountain!
