I can remember, (as well can my brothers) it was darn near a whipping by our father if a gun was put away dirty. Some people, ( I feel) think that today's weapons don't need cleaning as often. Sad mistake. Thanks for the article.

Just read your artical brought back some great memories of cold wet days sitting in front of a fire after a day shooting cleaning our guns, Was always told first thing after a shoot was to look after your gun still do it and have my kids doing the same thing.

I bought the Permatex anti-seize lubricant, and Power-Fist lithium grease. It works very well, but wish it had come in tiny tubes..... I now have enough for a lifetime.
