repeated logins

Microsoft did an update about 8 - 9 days ago and I had the same problem with it automatically logging me off the 4 websites I routinely use. LRH, 6mmBR, Rimfire Central, and Weatherby Rifles. I logged back on to the 3 other sites, but had to get Len to help me get logged onto LRH. The new password that the site issued me works fine, but now when I leave the site for any reason, I have to login again. Several times a day. I haven't had to do that before. I always click the "remember me" on, but it doesn't make any difference. The other sites are logging me off sometimes too, so it may be in my computer. When you can, check and be sure the site is not doing it. I read a thread on this board about cookies (whatever that is) having to be enabled. Maybe Microsoft is blocking cookies, (or McAfee). I'll get someone to check my computer. May be on my end.

Thanks for your time, Tom

Sorry you haven't received a reply sooner. The software this site uses has not changed the cookie settings or anything else that will cause any member to be automatically logged off. Browsers do have settings to control cookie life as do some virus/trojan/malware programs.

When reporting issues on any website, it's always a good idea to mention what operating system and browser you are using.

    Best R'gards,

    Jim

    Thanks Jim.
My computer uses Windows 7 Home Premium. My internet home page is Yahoo. I have no idea how to troubleshoot my computer settings, however, I haven't done anything to change any of them. I'll have to get someone who knows what they are doing to check it out. I use McAfee for security, but I've had some other odd things occuring since the last microsoft auto update.

Doesn't sound like anything you can fix.

    Thanks, Tom

    Re: repeated logins

Len/Jim, my granddaughter found the repeated login problem in about 3 seconds and fixed it. I should be able to shut down and come back without being logged off. I'll know for sure tomorrow.

That's so funny but typical these days of those smart kids.

    Re: repeated logins

You're absolutely right about the kids. Our 7 yr old great grandson tells my wife how to do some stuff, and she's good on computers. Frustrates me, I can build a rifle, but can't find my way around one of these durn things.

I did an update last night that required shutting down to finish installation. When I started up a couple of minutes ago, I was still logged on to LRH. Happy days. I'll check 6BR, RFC, and Wby Rifles after I finish here.

    Thanks Len.

    Later, Tom
