Re: Malware Blacklisted
Were you blocked from the site, or just a warning? You didnít say what page or what advertisement, so itís almost impossible to track down the problem. My guess is you received a warning from your virus program about a threat on the page you were visiting. It probably gave you the address of the malicious website the threat was coming from.
These problems are very rare, but usual cause for the warnings are fraudulent advertisements from our ad server that sneak through. Our server infrastructure is very secure and the system is constantly on watch for any virus or malware. Ads are served by a third party and may contain a URL that is a known host for malware without our knowledge. You would only be exposed to the malware if you clicked the ad. When we learn what URL is being delivered we can take steps to have that URL blocked. But as you may already know, the bad guys have many resources and use any particular URL only a very short period of time before they use another.
We work very hard to protect our members and visitors. When we get a report of trouble, we hunt it down and eliminate it. To find it though, we must have complete information. The page you were on helps, but a screen shot of the warning will usually have the bad address in view.
Thank you for reporting the problem and Iím sorry for your troubles.
