What in the HE double hockey sticks is up with this JD gator add owning the site?? It pops up repeatedly and covers 80% of the screen. Plus it freezes up my computer. I just had to wait and close it 4 time to read one private message. I understand the need and profitability in advertising, but it sure has turned me off on that product.

Re: HUGE JD ad

What's wrong with that I'm "Demoing" the RSX850i in the add this weekend, one of the perks of the job we'll see how many elk it can pack

Re: HUGE JD ad

Glad it's not just me. I have cussed more at that ad in the last couple weeks!
It drives me nuts! All you have to do is touch the ad with your mouse and it expands to cover almost the whole screen! IRRITATING!

Re: HUGE JD ad

Guys, thanks for the report. Let's see if we can figure it out.

I have never noticed that ad myself.
  1. If I understand you, the problem is that if you move your mouse over it, then it expands in size?
  2. Does there seem to be any certain action on your part that makes it more likely that your mouse will stir it up?
  3. How many times in a row, if at all, do you see it as you change pages?
  4. Is it the location just below the horizontal navigation bar in the forums only, not on HOME page or ARTICLES pages?
  5. What's the earliest approximate date that anyone has had trouble with it?

Re: HUGE JD ad

Len I will do my best to answer some of these.

1: I am not sure my problem is related to the mouse. I feel it has poped out at me even when I was not moving my mouse.

2: NO pattern here, it will expand to cover the entire page or at least 80% when ever it wants. And will sometimes repeat many times (3 to 4)

3: I will guess at the aversge being 3 times. It will pop up when I open a new page. Then if I change page again it comes back.

4: I have seen it on all forum pages. It expands to cover the page but seems only when it is in the bar above. It even does it to me when I am on my private message page while I am trying to open a message.

5: My best guess here is a month to 6 weeks ago.

The worst part is it is so large it freezes my page. I have to wait for it to load before I can move my mouse to close it. Then it sometimes comes right back up to 4 times.
