Firefox 2.0.0.12 vs. Firefox 3 Beta 3

I have been running both and doing some comparisons, especially for speed. On my machine and with my ISP I'm finding that Firefox 3 Beta 3 is faster at everything I've tried and compared.

Most pages on Long Range Hunting load in 3/4 to 1/2 the time they do with 2.0.0.12. I don't even use IE anymore because of having to wait compared to FF.

The only drawback, for now, is that most Addons/extensions don't work but I'm finding several that do.

Still playing with Beta 3, I tried Photobucket.

I can login at Photobucket, load all of the initial page, click on "show all" and have all of my photos displayed, and do all of this faster than it will just load the initial, single page using 2.0.0.12.

Is there a way to permanently set the size of the text in FF. It is too small for me and have to manually change it everytime I open it

>tools >options >content should get you to a screen where you will find fonts and colors etc. listed. I've never had to change mine so I've never done it but this would be a place I'd start.

I didn't know that!

The resolution on my monitor is 1920 by 1200 so the letters become quite small. I have been up-sizing quite often but this will be nicer. Thanks

I just noticed this extension. I installed it and it works fine with the FF versions 2.0.0.* but not with the newer Beta stuff.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2592

It makes it a little more convenient as it's on the status bar if you want to change anything.
