I'm doing one also, and using 270 WSM brass. Necking down will be easier.

Re: Your Next Rifle Will Be In Which Cartridge
Depends...
If this crap comes to pass.... 50 cal smoke pole CVA Acurra V2
If it don't...... MG42 Sub machine gun. I have to build it from parts. No biggie. Built one already for another person. 8mm Mauser belt fed over the top....or a Vickers or Browning liquid cooled.....
1200 rpm standard weight extractor, 1800 rpm lightened extractor....
Not terribly expensive to build but expensive to shoot.

The MG42 isn't a sub machine gun it's a full auto only 8mm Mauser(7.92x57)Machine gun. It was the primary machine gun of the German forces during WWII. It was without a doubt the best automatic rifle/light mg of the war.
I think you are confusing it with the Sturmgewehr 44 which was select fire and fired the 7.92x33.
The designation "sub machine gun" means it fires a mid range cartridge between pistol calibers and battle rifle caliber.

Re: Your Next Rifle Will Be In Which Cartridge
What is a 7mm AM ?
The only thing I can think of is an "Arnold Magnum" which would probably be an 8mm Remington necked down to 7mm.
