Does anyone need a Sako TRGs (M995) stock?

I think I am going to re-barrel my Sako TRGs with a heavier target barrel. This means I am going to need a new stock. The prices on the McMillan stock is ridiculous so I am contemplating selling the original stock to help fund this fiasco. I thought I would keep it because I usually keep all of the original equipment I end up replacing, but because of the exorbitant cost of this project I am contemplating this to help offset some of the cost. Does anyone even need one of these or know what the value would be? If they aren't worth much I will just keep it. Just let me know if you are interested and what it would be worth to you. Thanks.

Unless things have changed, you will need the spring, pin and lever from the mag release from the original stock to put on the McMillan. Better check before you sale.

A grand? The A3 stock is $498. Bottom metal is $175. The adjustable cheekpiece option for the stock is an additional $116. I'm figuring around $800 and I will need my trigger group and mag release parts. Do you know something I don't?

My father is interested as the one he currently has is cracked in the pistol grip area and then was repaired - bought it along with the rifle used.

Question is: How much - $200, $300, more?

Let me know. Price will affect whether my father purchases it or not.

You obviously did not read my link to the OP post on the subject. Here's an e-mail from McMillan ...

You will have to stick with the M995 (otherwise known as the TRG S) into the A5 (Winchester) stock and would also have to purchase the TRG S trigger guard from us. The stock will run you around $850 with the trigger guard and 1 hour custom work we have to perform (due to tang).
ADDED: Link to similar post ...

You're right, I didn't. I did not realize that was a link. As Lando Calrissian once said, "this deal is getting worse all the time...". I was just looking at McMillan's published prices on their web site.
