H870 or H1000 Loads for 65x284 ?

I need to work up a load for a savage 111 in 65x284 using Berger 130 or 140s. I have seen and herd a lot of guys using retumbo powder with good success. I However have a bunch of H870 and a little H 1000 on hand. According to burn rate charts the 870 is right next to the retumbo powder. I cannot find any data using it in the 65x284. does anyone out there have any leads or ideas?

Save yourself the headache and barrel life. Find some h4831
Start at 48ish. You'll find a node at 52ish grains and 2850 fps

Go with the 140s. I promise you'll find something between 50.5 & 52.5. Start a little lower than that and work up. Every 6.5x284 that I have been around will shoot that load very well.

Re: H870 or H1000 Loads for 65x284 ?

I load with H-1000 in my 6.5X284 using Berger 140 VLD's
55.2 grains with the 140 VLD gets me 3100ft/sec. in my 28" CBI barrel with 1-8" twist.
Have over 1200 rounds through barrel and still shoots .25 groups at 100 yds.
