Re: you have stock choices?

Each type has there place and it is mostly a personal choice.

I like real wood best for looks but on my hunting rifles I prefer a good laminate For
strength, balance, looks, and durability. The laminates also seam to dampen the
harmonics better.

The composite stocks are for the most part weather proof. But with very little
butt stock weight, heavy barrel rifles are normally muzzle heavy.

Just my opinion.

laminates i like the look and feel, but i do think you need to get a good quality one. i have a russo stock which i love , but also have factory laminates which leave a bit to be desired.

Re: you have stock choices?

Lovely wood is great on a bookcase! I will hunt hard, in any weather, with any rifle I own. For that reason my stocks of choice are all composites. Cheap plastic stocks suck, but a god composite will aid accuracy & keep the firearm looking "young" after many, many, miles.
